Merge PDF

Combine the pages from multiple PDFs into one PDF. Select your files, arrange their order, and download the merged document.

PDF processing runs on your device. Selected files are not uploaded to the tool API. Large documents still use your browser memory.

How to use Merge PDF

  1. Select PDF files or drop them into the upload area. The combined file limit is 50 MB.
  2. Check the first-page previews and page counts. Add more PDFs if needed. Drag file cards or use their arrow buttons to put them in the required order.
  3. Remove any unwanted file, then choose Merge PDF. All pages from each file are copied in the displayed file order.
  4. Download the merged PDF and check its page sequence. Your original files are unchanged. Use Start over to clear the selection.

Worked example

Two documents in the displayed file-list order.

Input

First: cover.pdf (1 page)
Second: report.pdf (2 pages)

Output

fyrepress-merged.pdf (3 pages)
Page 1: cover
Pages 2-3: report

Moving report.pdf above cover.pdf changes the merged order to report pages first, followed by the cover. The tool joins pages; it does not rewrite or compress their content.

How the merge works

The page loads its PDF processing library when you use the tool. It reads the selected documents, copies their pages into a new PDF in the displayed order, and creates a download in your browser.

The output is a new document. Original files are not edited, and the merge does not upload them to a conversion service.

Supported files and output checks

Use readable, unencrypted PDFs. The tool checks file type and size, then attempts to load each document. A .pdf extension alone does not make a damaged or unrelated file readable. Encrypted and corrupt documents can fail with an error.

Review the downloaded document, especially forms, annotations, bookmarks, accessibility tags, and signatures. Copying pages does not guarantee preservation of every document-level feature or a valid digital signature.

Limits and common mistakes

The combined file limit is 50 MB, but your device may run out of memory with several large or complex documents. Try smaller groups if processing fails or the browser becomes slow.

This merger does not remove passwords, perform OCR, compress scans, or convert Word documents. Check the displayed file order before merging; alphabetical filenames do not automatically set the output order.

Frequently asked questions

Are my PDFs uploaded?

The PDF processing tool reads and merges the files locally in your browser. It does not submit them to the tool API.

Can I merge password-protected PDFs?

Encrypted PDFs are unsupported. Use an unencrypted copy you are authorized to access.

Will bookmarks and digital signatures stay valid?

Do not assume that document-level features or digital signatures survive a page merge. Review the output and keep the original documents.
