How to use Extract PDF Pages
- Select a PDF or drop it into the upload area. Choose one unencrypted file up to 50 MB.
- Use Select pages to click page previews or enter numbers and ranges, for example 2, 4-6. Choose All pages if you want the whole document.
- Keep Combine selected pages into one PDF enabled for one output. Turn it off to create a separate PDF for every selected page.
- Check the output summary, choose Extract Pages, and download the result. Multiple PDFs can also be downloaded together as a ZIP.
Worked example
Keep three relevant pages from a six-page document.
Input
Document: six pages Mode: Select pages Selection: 2, 4-5 Combine selected pages: on
Output
fyrepress-extracted.pdf: source pages 2, 4 and 5
The new PDF contains three pages in the order entered. Turning Combine off produces three one-page PDFs. The original six-page PDF remains unchanged.
Select pages visually or by number
Click a page preview to include or exclude that page. Selected pages have a highlighted border and a pressed state available to assistive technology. Select all and Clear selection provide shortcuts. For large documents, use the preview pagination to reach later pages.
You can type individual pages and inclusive ranges separated by commas. For example, 3, 1-2 copies page 3 before pages 1 and 2. Typed repeated pages are retained intentionally. Clicking previews switches to a unique selection in document order. Page numbers refer to PDF positions, which may differ from printed page numbers.
Understand the output options
Combine selected pages into one PDF creates one new PDF containing every selected page copy. Turn it off to create a one-page PDF for each selected page. All pages selects the entire document and uses the same combine setting.
The summary reports selected page copies and the number of output PDFs before you run the tool. Download buttons show each output filename and page count. The ZIP option packages the generated PDFs; it does not compress the PDF page content.
How extraction works and where files go
The browser reads the PDF and copies the selected pages into new PDF documents. Processing libraries and preview support files load from FyrePress as needed. PDF contents are not uploaded to the server or sent to the PHP tool endpoint.
Cancellation is checked between processing steps, and the current library operation may finish first. Start over clears the current document and output from the interface. Downloads are saved using your browser's download settings. Keep the original document until you have checked the result.
Supported inputs and common mistakes
Use a valid, unencrypted PDF up to 50 MB. The tool rejects corrupt or encrypted documents, empty selections, backwards ranges, and page numbers outside the file. Complex PDFs may exceed the memory available to the browser.
A page preview is a visual aid; extraction copies the PDF page instead of taking a screenshot. Document-level bookmarks, forms, attachments, and digital signatures are not guaranteed to survive. Removing a page does not redact information from retained pages. Review the downloaded file before sharing it.
Frequently asked questions
Can I save each selected page separately?
Yes. Turn off Combine selected pages into one PDF. Each selected page copy becomes a separate one-page PDF, and all outputs can be downloaded as a ZIP.
Can I change the page order?
Type the page order in Pages / ranges, such as 5, 1-2. The output follows that order. Clicking previews changes the selection to unique pages in document order.
Will the original PDF change?
No. The tool creates new PDFs in the browser and leaves the selected source file unchanged.
What if a preview cannot be displayed?
The page card will say Preview unavailable. Page copying can still work if the processing library can read the file. Check the downloaded output rather than treating a missing preview as proof that the page is blank.
